Lunugamvehera National Park, which lies between Yala and Uda Walawe national parks, is home to 43 mammals – elephants being the main attraction – including spotted and sambar deer, wild buffalo, giant squirrel, palm cat, three species of mongoose, sloth bear and leopards.
