Overview

This tour is a fun-packed, thrilling package of exploring the national parks of Sri Lanka! Discover over 233 resident species, amazing flora and fauna and wonderful destinations with great memories to carry back.  From elephants to leopards, peacocks and much more with a hint of ancient ruins of the glorious days and some insight into the world famous Ceylon Tea!

What to Expect

You will be picked up at your hotel in Colombo at approximately 7am and transported to Kandy. En-route, stop-over at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. It is a place, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian Elephants.The aim of the orphanage is to stimulate a natural habitat to these elephants however there are some exceptions the elephants are taken to the river twice a day for a bath and all the babies less than three years of age are still bottle fed by the mahouts and volunteers.

We will also visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Visit View point in Kandy. Later do the  city tour of Kandy town and the surrounding areas and visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic. Later we will continue to Kandy this royal city, sheltered by the hills and looped by the Mahaweli the longest river of Sri Lanka.
And then drop you at the Hotel in Colombo during late evening.

  • Day 01 - Welcome to Sri LankaAyubowan! Welcome to Sri Lanka, the luscious island of golden beaches, climbing ripples, murky peaks, magnificent elephants, enigmatic animals, a majestic history, delightful tea and friendly smiles. Upon arrival in this beautiful island, you will be greeted by a friendly tour guide who will accompany you to your air-conditioned vehicle. You will be taken to your selected hotel in Negombo. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay in Negombo
  • Day 02 - Habarana & Minneriya National ParkAfter Breakfast, you'll be leaving on an exciting drive through busy towns, villages’ woodlands, rice paddies and marshes into the rural heartland of tropical Sri Lanka to your destination - Habarana. Later on, you will set off towards Minneriya National Park for your game drive in search of wild elephants and the variety of species of birds and animals that can be found here. The scenery in the Minneriya national park is wonderful, with its varied flora and fauna, and the Minneriya tank where you will find the elephants drinking water and bathing with flocks of birds fishing.   • Day 04 - Dambulla Rock Cave Temple Today, you'll be leaving for Kandy en-route visiting the 1st century BC Dambulla Rock Cave Temple - the most impressive and largest rock cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. This is also known as the Dambulla cave temple holding some of the most remarkable statues of the Lord Buddha in the world. The Dambulla cave temple contains 2,000-year-old murals portraying the life and times of the Lord Buddha. The shrines also contain a compilation of 157 statues of Lord Buddha, including a 15 meter long reclining Buddha and strikingly painted frescoes on the walls and ceiling, making this the biggest cave brush worked surface in the world. On completion, drive to Kandy, en-route visit the Spice gardens located at Matale (the spice capital of Sri Lanka). Adorned with herbs, spice groves of various kinds and plants with aromatic greenery shading from the tropical trees that enlightens the unique aroma of each spice and herb. Explore and expand your knowledge of spices, herbs and the benefits of Ayurveda, maybe even enjoy a herbal head and shoulder massage. In the evening, you will be taken to witness a traditional performance of Kandyan dancing. This performance is simply mind-blowing! From over 6 different types of dancing from various regions in Sri Lanka and ends with an exciting display of fire walking and breathing! Complete your day with an evening visit to the Temple of the Tooth, which houses the most sacred relic of the Buddha, where the casket in which the tooth is contained, is brought out.   • Day 05 - Kandy View PointToday, you'll be visiting the Udawattakele Sanctuary or the Royal Forest Park of Kandy is located on the hill behind the Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Tooth Relic. The park is particularly popular with bird watching and it is a wonderful place to experience the tropical nature of Sri Lanka. This wildlife haven is a habitat to numerous species of mammals, reptiles and an extraordinary fauna. The park is home to infinite animals and birds including mouse deer, jackals, porcupines and civets, plenty of monkeys, birds and some quiet ponds. Additionally, this sanctuary also houses several important Buddhist meditation monasteries. Afterwards, take a stroll through the Royal Botanical Gardens Peradeniya; which started off as pleasure gardens for Sinhalese Royalty. Then it was turned into a Botanical garden by the British in 1843. Behold the amazing collection of over 300 varieties of orchids, probably the largest collection in Asia! From tall trees to lovely flowers, the Peradeniya flower garden is the perfect destination for any nature lover, you'll be able to take endless pictures of this wonderful creation.   • Day 06 - Nuwara EliyaAfter having breakfast, you will be driven down to the railway station to experience one of the most exciting and scenic train journeys on the island, across the tea covered mountains, through tunnels and over bridges to your destination Nuwara Eliya, where the British established a hill station and a convalescence centre for their military in the 19th century. This place is also known as ‘little England’. Grab your jackets and explore the amazing wonders of Nuwara Eliya. Taste some delicious tea and feel the lovely misty breeze hit your face with the aroma of tea permeating the air as you roam about in beautiful Nuwara Eliya. There are so many places to see in Nuwara Eliya, from buildings of mock Tudor to Georgian architecture. Some of the colonial landmarks include the old post office, the Grand Hotel, St Andrews hotel, the racecourse, Lake Gregory and Victoria Park to name a few. In the afternoon visit a working tea factory, to explore the tea estates and to learn about how it’s all done to make a delicious fresh cup of tea! Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya
  • Day -07 - Horton Plains National ParkAfter an early breakfast or packed breakfast, you'll be leaving for an adventurous drive to Horton Plains National Park, located at an altitude of over 2000 meters and covering an area of 3160 hectares. Commence the circular trek through the park from the visitor’s centre where you will find some interesting exhibits pertaining to the history, fauna and flora of Horton Plains. The 9-kilometer circular trek will take approximately 3 hours to complete and will cover an escarpment called mini worlds end and the famous worlds end, from which point on a clear day you could see the southern coast of Sri Lanka. Thereafter if you're feeling up to it make a somewhat slippery and steep descent to ‘Bakers falls’ named after the famous British explorer, Sir Samuel Baker or continue the trek through forests and grasslands back to the visitor’s centre.   • Day 08 - Lush tropical countrysideAfter breakfast, you'll be leaving for Yala! Passing by the lush tropical countryside, the little agriculture-based villages to the southeast region of Sri Lanka to your destination. Check-in to your selected hotel in Yala. This afternoon will be at leisure, allowing you to familiarize with the surroundings. Overnight stay in Yala
  • Day 09 - Yala National ParkToday is going to be a great day filled with immense excitement and fun! You'll be leaving on an exciting early morning safari drive through the Yala National Park. The Yala National Park is the second largest in Sri Lanka and is home to 44 species of mammals including Elephant, Leopard (the highest density found in the world), Monkeys, Sloth bear, wild water Buffalo, Toque Macaque, Golden Palm Civet, Red Slender Loris, and Fishing Cat and about 215 Bird species. This safari is the perfect ride for any wildlife lover, exploring the marvels of Sri Lankan wildlife and nature, all in one! Return to the park for an afternoon safari drive. Overnight stay in Yala
  • Day 10 - Whale WatchingAfter breakfast, you will proceed to Mirissa for your beach stay. Mirissa is home to beautiful beaches, whale watching, surf waves and quirky beach-side restaurants.

  • Day 13 - Kosgoda Turtle HatcheryAfter breakfast, you'll be leaving on a leisurely drive to Colombo, en route visiting the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery! This is a haven of turtles, in various sizes and appearances. You'll be able to learn about turtles, take pictures of them and even hold them on your palms! There are numbers of various turtles, namely the Ridgeback, Hawksbill, Green Turtle, Olive Ridley and Loggerhead. Overnight in Colombo
  • Day 14 - GoodbyeYou've seen and done some of the best activities and spectacles of our lovely paradise and now it's time to say goodbye. Today, after breakfast, you will be taken to the airport for your departure back to your country of origin. We wish you a safe flight.
